Job Title: Estimator / Tender Engineer – Fire Protection
Location: Lagos
The Role
Study tender documents, specifications and drawings; raise clarifications (RFIs) with clients and consultants.
Join site surveys with the sales team and carry out quantity take-offs from drawings.
Prepare BOQs and cost estimates with separable supply and installation rates, using the product catalogue and rates database.
Prepare RFQs, suppliers and the registered subcontractor panel; compare and evaluate offers on a like-for-like basis.
Complete the tender package: priced BOQ, technical compliance statement, qualifications and commercial terms.
Track tender deadlines and submissions; keep the tender register and document control records up to date.
Price variations, AMC contracts and counter sales of stock items and spares.
Maintain and update the price and rates database; review estimate against actual project costs.
Job Requirements
B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering.
3–5 years' experience in estimation or tendering for fire-fighting systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, foam or gas suppression).
Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection system components.
Strong quantity take-off and cost build-up skills, including labour, material and subcontract elements.
Advanced Excel skills; able to read AutoCAD drawings (estimating software is an advantage).
Highly organized and accurate; able to manage several tenders and meet tight deadlines.
