About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and performance-driven Fleet Support Officer to oversee the operational performance of assigned fleet assets and drivers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that assigned trucks are fully utilized, productive, fuel-efficient, compliant with safety standards, and delivering expected operational and revenue outcomes.
This role goes beyond fleet monitoring and requires an individual who can actively manage drivers, optimize asset deployment, improve fleet productivity, and drive operational performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor assigned fleet assets and ensure effective journey execution.
Track vehicle utilization, productivity, and operational performance.
Manage On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and delivery exceptions.
Coordinate with drivers, customers, and operational stakeholders to resolve delays and disruptions.
Drive fuel-efficient driving practices and monitor driver performance.
Optimize asset deployment, routing, and backhaul opportunities.
Monitor Proof of Delivery (POD) closure and trip reconciliation activities.
Identify factors affecting fleet productivity and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with safety, journey management, and operational requirements.
Liaise with maintenance teams to improve vehicle availability and reduce downtime.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-5 years experience in fleet operations, transport management, logistics, or related roles.
Strong understanding of fleet utilization, driver management, and operational performance monitoring.
Experience using GPS tracking, fleet management, or transport management systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
