We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

• The Lathe Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining lathe machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate lathe machines to produce components as per specifications and drawings.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces on the machine accurately.
• Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to achieve required tolerances.
• Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on lathe machines.
• Ensure all machined parts meet quality standards and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment in line with company safety policies.
• Record job details, production output, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve machining challenges.

Qualifications & Experience

• Candidates should possess a minimum of OND (Ordinary National Diploma) in Mechanical/Production Engineering or related discipline OR valid Trade Test certification in machining.
• Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a Lathe Machinist in a manufacturing or engineering workshop.
• Strong knowledge of lathe machine operation, cutting tools, and machining processes.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Good understanding of safety practices in machine operation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
