Job Summary
A fast-growing agribusiness and climate-smart infrastructure company is seeking an experienced seeking an experienced Senior Agricultural & Water Infrastructure / Irrigation Engineer to lead and support the planning, engineering design, construction supervision, testing and commissioning of agricultural water and infrastructure projects.
The role covers irrigation schemes, dams, reservoirs, pumping stations, water distribution systems, agricultural drainage, farm access roads and related rural infrastructure.
The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on engineering experience and be able to demonstrate personal technical contributions to completed or substantially executed projects through engineering calculations, drawings, project records and commissioning reports.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and design irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler and surface irrigation schemes.
Undertake crop water requirements, hydraulic calculations, pump sizing and pipeline design.
Support the design and development of dams, reservoirs, water storage and distribution infrastructure.
Design and review agricultural drainage, stormwater systems, culverts, farm roads and related civil works.
Supervise construction, installation, quality assurance, testing and commissioning of water infrastructure.
Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantities and feasibility reports.
Coordinate contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, statutory requirements and project quality procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years' relevant professional engineering experience.
Valid CORENor its equivalent.
Proven experience in irrigation design, hydraulic calculations, pumping systems, water distribution and agricultural drainage.
Demonstrable involvement in the design, implementation or technical supervision of irrigation schemes, reservoirs, pumping stations or agricultural water infrastructure.
Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, EPANET, HEC-RAS, CROPWAT, WaterCad, IrriCardor GIS.
Strong technical reporting, project coordination and construction supervision skills.
