Role Purpose
The Digital News Producer is responsible for turning news into content that works across both radio and digital platforms. This role focuses on creating simple, accurate, and engaging updates that can be broadcast on-air and published online. Using AI tools, the producer adapts each story into formats suitable for radio bulletins, website articles, social media posts, and Pidgin. This position ensures Nigeria Info remains fast, relevant, and trusted while delivering news in the formats today’s audience consumes.
Key Responsibilities
Write short, clear news updates from feeds, alerts, agencies, and social sources.
Repurpose stories for radio bulletins, website, and social platforms.
Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Jasper, etc.) to create captions, summaries, and translations.
Publish directly to social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube).
Monitor breaking news sources (Google Alerts, TweetDeck, Google Trends) and escalate urgent updates instantly.
Work closely with Content Producers to align coverage with trending conversations and talk-show highlights.
Ensure all output reflects Nigeria Info’s standards of accuracy, speed, and credibility.
Qualifications & Skills
No degree required – proven digital skills, creativity, and speed are what matter.
Strong writing skills in simple English (Pidgin is a plus).
Active on social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube).
Comfortable using AI tools for writing, summarizing, and translating.
Passionate about news, politics, current affairs, and Nigerian society.
Can work under pressure, respond fast, and meet tight deadlines.
Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
